Ideas

Dear friends,
For ideas for my creative work I usually go from the moment and rarely plan ahead. Some people have a book of ideas that they refer to and add to and have books that they brainstorm in. Do you create in the moment or have a book of ideas or do ideas percolate in your head?

A good question, Susan. I am my own enemy in this regard: having a storm of ideas and no discipline for following through. I save objects, song lyrics, photos that trigger ideas. I am most successful when there is a group project with a definite due date and I am keen not to fail or look like a "quitter." Then I buckle down and wonder why I don't create all the time, because it feels so wonderful to be in the flow of it.
Don't know if I'll ever get better at that. Do you ever have this problem?

margie, My creativity goes up and down with my mood swings. At the moment I am quiet so not much creativity. Then I have a couple of zippy weeks and do lots of creating and blogging. Nice to read about you and your ideas.
